Welcome to the Centre for Gender Studies
Thank you for visiting the Centre for Gender Studies at Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
This Centre exists because questions of gender, who holds power, who is heard, who is protected, and who is left behind, are not abstract in our context. In Nasarawa State and across northern Nigeria, gender intersects with culture, faith, economy and governance in ways that shape real lives daily. Our work is to study those intersections rigorously, teach them honestly, and act on what we find.
We offer academic programmes from Executive Certificate through to the Doctor of Philosophy in Gender Studies. Alongside teaching, we conduct research that informs policy, run advocacy and community engagement, and partner with institutions across government, civil society and academia to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment.
